ROV MARINE LIFE SURVEY OF DEEP SEA PIPELINE AND ASSOCIATED SUBSEA HARDWARE

Blue Latitudes was responsible for the design of a ROV survey to characterize the benthic marine life associated with deep-sea pipelines and associated subsea hardware. The results, combined with the available scientific and observational data, provided evidence of the ecological value of benthic utilization of in-situ sea-floor hardware at depths between 3,000 - 7,000 ft.

THAILAND MARINE FEASIBILITY STUDY

Assessed ecological evaluations of offshore oil and gas assets in the Gulf of Thailand including sediment, biota, and water quality.

BIOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF SEMI-PERMANENT MARINE ART INSTALLATION

Assessed the biological impact of the placement of a semi-permanent marine art installation at depths ranging from 50-70 ft. This report was written in response to requirements of the United State Army Corps of Engineers and the California Coastal Commission.

ASSESSMENT OF IN-SITU DEEP-SEA HARDWARE, JOINT INDUSTRY PROJECT

Blue Latitudes was responsible for disseminating the regulatory compliance issues associated with deep water decommissioning into a report that further assessed the preliminary results of two deep-water ROV biological assessments, as well as existing research on deep-sea benthic ecology. This report was developed to aid regulators, industry and the science community when making decisions regarding removal options (complete, partial, or in-situ) of deep-sea hardware.

NORTH SEA DECOMMISSIONING REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Blue Latitudes was responsible for coordinating compliance issues related to the decommissioning of offshore oil and gas platforms in the North Sea, with specific regards to the Oslo/Paris convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic Oil Spill Prevention, Administration and Response Fund (OSPAR). The data collected was used to evaluate the feasibility of the Rigs to Reefs decommissioning option from a permitting and regulatory process perspective.

Technical assistance for offshore oil field infrastrucutre decommissioning in Mauritania

As the environmental experts, Blue Latitudes supported the efforts of the Government of Mauritania to decommission the Chinguetti oilfield in a sustainable manner, setting precedent for successful future decommissioning projects in Mauritania. Blue Latitudes reviewed the Abandonment and Decommissioning Plan and related case studies, supported and developed the Decommissioning Operational Plan and offered technical support for the Chinguietti Field Decommissioning.
